Karen began quilting in 1980 in Ames, Iowa. Inspired by family and friends, she established herself as a popular teacher in Story County, Iowa. After moving with her husband and children to Cary, North Carolina in 2003, she became an active member of the Capital Quilter's Guild and helped to establish the Wanna Bees, a quilting bee in Cary. Quiltricks was established in 2005 after years of developing patterns for her classes. An award-winning and published designer, Karen is also a caring instructor with a warm sense of humor. She is available to teach classes and offers trunk shows at stores, guilds and other quilting groups.
